This TVLP competition ran in September 2020 to celebrate the best GCSE art work created in the previous academic year.
Thanks to the support and assistance of our wonderful school art departments, we had over 100 student entries from five of our schools: Beechwood School, Eton College, Holyport College, St Joseph’s Catholic High School, and St Mary’s School Ascot.
“We the judges were very impressed with the very high standard of the work entered in the competition both on a technical level and in terms of the originality and creativity displayed. We certainly felt that self-portraiture made up a very strong component of this group of entries”.
OVERALL WINNER: Milly Handel, St Mary’s School Ascot.
"Happily for the judges we were unanimous in our choice of the overall winner."
"The winner has a real presence, excellent composition and it immediately stood out for its originality. It successfully combines its abstract and representational qualities with a level of sophistication unusual in such a young artist."
